eight departments -- 1296 municipalities -- municipalities > 10,000 inhabitants divided into statistical zones (5259 IRIS covering an area of around 12,000 km2, including place of residence) -- municipalities < 10,000 inhabitants, only the department is known

census - 3 sub-datasets

  • microsample of 30% of households in France + sociodemographic information for every covered household and all household members

  • commuting relations - can be aggregated to a flow matrix containing the commuting flows for work and educational purposes between any two municipalities in France

synthesize a population of households and persons with sociodemographic attributes and home locations commuting data set => ** work and education places** for each person.

Household income => public FiLoSoFi data set (distribution of disposable income per consumption unit for each municipality)

In the pipeline, the data set is used to define an income value for each synthesized household as this information is not available from census data.
